Hidden within Valencia’s oldest neighbourhood, La Seu, Casa Clarita occupies a former home and workshop of a family of glassmakers. Rather than erasing its past, designer Jaime Hayon embraced it. Original architectural features remain throughout the building, while contemporary interventions celebrate the property’s creative history and its close relationship with the city’s artistic spirit. The result feels unmistakably Valencian. Yet entirely Hayon.

Design That Makes You Smile

Jaime Hayon is renowned for creating interiors that balance craftsmanship with imagination, and Casa Clarita is one of his most personal projects. Original patterned floor tiles, barrel-vaulted ceilings, restored staircases, and hand-painted murals meet bespoke furniture, sculptural lighting, playful curves, and a palette of soft pastel colours inspired by the Mediterranean. Throughout the hotel, vintage objects, contemporary artworks, and recovered architectural elements create interiors that feel joyful without becoming overwhelming. Nothing feels predictable. The hotel offers 12 guestrooms and 10 apartments, each individually designed to reflect the unique proportions of the historic building. Dark timber, white marble, handcrafted furniture, colourful textiles, and carefully selected local objects create spaces that feel warm, personal, and quietly luxurious. No two rooms are alike, yet all share the same balance of creativity, comfort, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Design never becomes decoration. It always serves the experience.
