A Landmark Reinvented

In the Beaugrenelle district, close to the Seine and the Eiffel Tower, YOOMA Urban Lodge announces itself long before guests arrive. Creative director Ora Ïto reimagined a 1970s office building with a sculptural façade clad in aluminium and stainless steel, punctuated by deep blue and black panels. Artist Daniel Buren extended the concept with bold graphic interventions that transform the building into an urban artwork. The architecture refuses to disappear. It celebrates visibility.

Colour with Purpose

Inside, the playful visual language continues. Hallways lined with Buren’s signature stripes lead to guestrooms where vibrant panels of red, yellow, blue, and green reference both Piet Mondrian and Charlotte Perriand. Exposed concrete, crisp white bedding, and natural timber soften the bold colours, creating interiors that feel energetic without becoming overwhelming. The design feels optimistic. And remarkably functional.

Small Spaces, Big Ideas

The 106 guestrooms are designed around flexibility rather than size. Rooms accommodate couples, families, and groups through ingenious layouts featuring integrated luggage storage, fold-away desks, generous charging points, and compact bathrooms with rainfall showers. The most distinctive feature is the series of timber sleeping pods with sliding doors, miniature cabins that provide privacy while echoing Le Corbusier’s fascination with efficient living. Every square metre works hard. Without sacrificing comfort.

A Gallery You Can Dine In

The restaurant reflects the same design-driven philosophy. More than 130 iconic chairs transform the dining room into an informal design exhibition, ranging from Verner Panton’s celebrated S Chair to Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s whimsical Ange chair. Above, a productive rooftop garden supplies herbs, vegetables, and fruit to both the restaurant and cooking school while framing sweeping views across Paris. Design becomes part of everyday life. Not something placed behind glass.
